Eugene, OR- A 20-year-old liberal college student from the University of Oregon named Taven Hawkins made a viral announcement on his Twitter account this last week. He announced to his 213 followers that he was going to be suing his parents for giving him such a sheltered childhood.
“Kids nowadays have drag queen storytime!” he exclaimed, “They even have books in their libraries that talk about gay sex and all the stuff that I love.” He continued to elaborate on sexual things that he didn’t learn about until he was a preteen. “It would’ve been nice to know those things before I was 6 like kids nowadays!”
Hawkins continued to rant in multiple posts as his original viral post continued to gain momentum within the Twitterverse. He mentioned that he had to find out what gay sex was by looking it up on his mom’s iPhone when he was 6-years-old in 2009. “I had questioned my identity until I was 12,” he continued, “Because I didn’t have people telling me what to be when I was a kid; now I’m just a gay zer with no friends.”
Hawkins continued to explain that he is suing his parents for an undisclosed amount due to child neglect. He added that if he wins the case he is using the money to take his non-binary lover to travel the wine country in Napa.
