Suffolk, U.K.- In an ongoing lawsuit concerning Ed Sheeran and his plagiarism of the famous sexual tune, “Let’s Get It On” written by Ed Townsend and performed by Marvin Gaye, a judge has made some harsh comments toward Sheeran. The heirs of Ed Townsend’s estate apparently think Ed Sheeran ripped off the 4-chord progression of the song in his own lame 2014 tune “Thinking Out Loud.”
The remarks from the judge in the case said that Ed Sheeran has pleaded in front of the judge that the 4-chord progression in “Thinking Out Loud” is a progression used in 1,000’s of songs. The judge said that might be the case but that Sheeran has also been found guilty of making shitty music.
“Whether or not you have copied anything by Mr. Townsend’s or Mr. Gaye’s estate is beside the point now,” Judge Theodore Thibideaux explained to Sheeran, “Your lack of decent lyrics and overall songwriting is terribly deficient, appalling, and inexcusable.” As Sheeran tried to take up for himself the judge cut him off and asked for a gag order to be placed on the singer.
“It appears that the Townsend’s are also filing suit on the copywriting of the name Ed as well,” the judge emphasized, “Ed Townsend had drawn up in his estate that no other singer/songwriter could have the name Ed, so that is another portion of the lawsuit that we must take into account.” Things are really starting to stack up against Sheeran, including some backlash from mentioning that he would not continue to make music if he was found guilty of plagiarism.
“It is more of a reason for me to consider charging you with plagiarism, Mr. Sheeran,” the judge warned, “If you are considering quitting music then you just might force my hand to executively decide to find you guilty.” The court was adjourned and we will all wait patiently to see if the world has been eradicated of Ed Sheeran’s music forever.
