Hollywood, CA- Disney executives are stunned at the overwhelming backlash of the latest release, Aladdin 2: Rub Me the Right Way. In this sequel to the hugely successful 1992 release, Aladdin, the genie and Aladdin reunite and become lovers.

In the 1992 film, Aladdin and the genie shared a lot of close moments together but Aladdin was set on marrying princess Jasmine. In Agrabah, the city in which the film is set, you were immediately castrated for having any kind homosexual relationship. However, as the city has become more progressive in “Rub Me the Right Way” the genie has returned to confess his love for Aladdin.

“When we would listen to ‘Friend Like Me’ from the first Aladdin film, we just felt like there were some undertones that we could run with,” said returning director John Musker, “The lyrics ‘All you gotta do is rub that lamp and I’ll say, Mister Aladdin sir, what will your pleasure be?’ jumped out to us as a great way to push a homosexual relationship between the genie and Aladdin.”

Without giving away the entire story, in “Rub Me the Right Way” the genie appears outside Aladdin and Jasmine's window one night on the magic carpet. Jasmine is away with her girlfriends in Dubai and Aladdin is alone in the palace. The two share a moment as it has been so long since they have seen each other and the genie makes a confession. He looks deep into Aladdin’s eyes, gently caresses his hands and softly whispers, “Mister Aladdin sir, what will your pleasure be?” as he begins to blow in his ear.

Aladdin initially pulls away until he looks into the genie's eyes and feels all of the old emotions come rushing back. The two embrace one another and share their first kiss. It then cuts away to the next scene where they are under the sheets in bed and the genie is smoking a hookah.

It’s really no surprise that the backlash, especially from conservative strongholds across the country, has been harsh to say the least. People are boycotting everything Disney, from the theme parks to toys to Disney Plus. Their stock has plummeted and the executives are stunned to see these negative repercussions. What are your thoughts? Have you seen the movie? Are you going to boycott Disney?
